This beautiful Orientalist
painting on canvas mounted on
board had developed an air
pocket.  The painting needed to
be removed from the board,
flattened, and then remounted.
A good cleaning and retouching
of the missing paint brought
about the remarkable
transforation you see here.
This landscape painting had some
rather large tears.  To provide
stability and hold the tears
together, the painting was relined
with a linen backing.  The tears
were then smoothed out with putty
and painted to match the
surrounding areas.  A good
cleaning and protective varnish
successfully completed the job.
This American portrait had a large
puncture that needed to be filled
with an inset canvas patch.  This
inset was then primed and painted
to match.  A good cleaning and
restreching of the canvas had this
stately gentleman looking dignified
once again.

This lovely Italian landscape painting
might look to some to be beyond
repair, but not so!  The loosened,
crumbling paint simply needed to be
re-bonded to the canvas to prevent
further losses.  After that, the
painting received a good cleaning.
Finally, the extensive missing areas
were filled in with gesso and
repainted.
